Compassion21 seeks to share the compassion of Jesus with people who are struggling physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Compassion21 began in 1994 as the Montgomery Inner City Ministry.
MICM still operates today as a part of the Compassion21 organization.

Ken Kilpatrick was the original founder and he is still active as the Executive Director. Compassion21 provides services to our low income/inner city neighbors particularly in Chisholm, Tulane Court, Trenholm Court, Gibbs Village East and West, Smiley Court and Paterson Court. All services are directed from our facilities at 2414 Lower Wetumpka Road.

The target population is 4 to 18 year old children as well as their parent/s and/or caregivers in the communities listed above. The children are at risk of poverty, child abuse, crime-related activity and underachievement in school. Also, in most cases, the parent/s and/or caregivers need parenting skills, discipline skills and healthy life skills.
