Dr. King took the first steps toward his Dream in Montgomery, Alabama, and today, the city celebrates the legacies of history, non-violent social protest, and victory over segregated transportation. Widely known as the Cradle of the Confederacy and the Birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement, Montgomery has preserved much of its history through a variety of museums, memorials and attractions.
